Troy Container Line Opens Office in Charlotte, NC
RED BANK, NJ:
Troy Container Line (TCL), the fastest growing shipping company providing LCL and Full Container services to more than 500 ports around the world, has strengthened its global presence by opening a new regional office in Charlotte, North Carolina. The new regional base adds in-depth operational expertise needed to meet growing customer demands in the South Atlantic region.
Thanks to the solid reputation TCL built for itself since 1984 from its headquarters in Red Bank, New Jersey, the new Charlotte office is already running ahead of even the most optimistic company forecasts since opening its doors October 1, 2008. At the helm as vice president is longtime employee, Chris Hellow, who began his career with TCL 11 years ago and went on to hold several senior positions with the company.
"Charlotte has become one of the top three hubs of transportation for the South'" said Hellow. "The new office allows us to handle more volume and gives us a wider scope for sales."
It also enables Hellow and TCL to better respond to customer issues on the spot and provide a consistent, high-quality service on a global basis. With a growing staff of five employees handpicked by Hellow, TCL plans to offer direct European services out of the south by the end of the second quarter.
"The Charlotte office has superior support and partnership from the city and state, and serves as a central location for the transportation business." said Michael Troy, President and CEO of TCL. "We are confident that our investment and growth in the Southeast will benefit our colleagues and advance our goal of creating opportunities in global commerce for our customers."

Automated Export System (AES)
RED BANK, NJ:
Troy Container Line wishes to remind all shippers that, since July 2, 2008 the U.S. Census Bureau & Custom Border Protection requires mandatory filing of export information prior to vessel departure through the Automated Export System (AES) for all shipments.
The regulations call for the export information to be filed in AES according to specific timeframe, and it is now fully implemented with effective date October 1, 2008.
The shipper or its authorized agent will be required to provide to the exporting carrier AES ITN or exemption legend prior to exporting at scheduled port where the cargo is loaded. Failure to provide to the carrier the AES ITN or exemption legend would result in the inability by the carrier to load the cargo onto the assigned vessel. In the event any cargo is loaded without the mandatory filing, a fine of US$10,000 per Bill of Lading is assessed by U.S. Census Bureau & Custom Border Protection.
Troy Container Line wants to make sure that our clients are aware:
to file and provide information in accordance with the U.S. Census Bureau & Custom Border Protection;
to pass the information to us along with your shipping instructions within the timeframe outlined below.
that cargo will NOT be loaded and will be rolled due to non compliance, and that same would be subject to roll-over fee; late documentation fee; demurrage; storage; re-handling; and any charge assessed by the terminal and the carrier in line with their published tariff.
Troy Container Line will operate under the following guidelines:
it would be mandatory to receive bill of lading info with AES ITN or exemption legend by the cargo cutoff date for all shipments.
upon deadline, Troy Container Line WILL NOT LOAD any shipment for which NO documents were received.
Troy Container Line reminds all shippers how important it is to provide us with correct and timely information, and obey by the guidelines as instructed by U.S. Census Bureau & Custom Border Protection.

Troy Container Line makes holiday donation in the name of their valued clients to the Room to Read charity.
RED BANK, NJ: This year Troy Container Line has chosen to make a donation in the name of our valued clients to a charity named Room to Read. Room to Read’s mission is to provide under-privileged children with an opportunity to gain the lifelong gift of education. The cornerstone of this organization is the fundamental belief that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and taking control of one's own life.
John Wood, a former Microsoft executive, is the founder of Room to Read. Together with a team of dedicated individuals, they have set out to make a difference in this world of ours. They are currently focused in Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and South Africa. These are countries with a desperate lack of resources to educate their children. Room to Read has built schools, libraries and computer and language labs in these areas. In addition, they target the overwhelming number of girls who are left out of the education system in these countries due to a lack of family resources. The Room to Grow Scholarship Program now provides over 2,300 long-term scholarships to girls who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend school.
Troy Container Line has chosen to fund two long-term scholarships in your name this holiday season. This is a ten-year commitment to allow two girls who attend class and receive passing grades to have their education funded through the completion of secondary school. This scholarship program has had an immediate and direct impact on the lives of countless girls in the developing world.
In our industry global awareness is essential. We must realize that our future lies in the hands of our children – all our children. I urge you to read Leaving Microsoft to Change the World by John Wood. It is not a story about the hopeless situation of illiteracy but rather an uplifting and inspiring account of how one person can have a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate every day. John Wood and Room to Read have achieved tremendous accomplishments. He shows us that with our help so much more can be done. "World Change Starts with Educated Children."
On behalf of Troy Container Line, I wish you a happy holiday season and a New Year filled with peace and contentment.
Best regards,
Michael Cadden Troy, Sr.

APRIL 6, 2006 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Troy Container Line More Than Doubles Staff
RED BANK, NJ: Shipping is thriving in Red Bank as Troy Container Line has more than doubled the size of its staff during the last three years, announced Owner and Chairman Michael Troy. In its 23rd year, Troy Container Line's remarkable growth has enabled it to dramatically expand its roster of employees.
Troy Container Line provides LCL and Full Container shipping services to more than 500 ports and points around the world, with direct export service to hundreds of cities and direct consolidation services from cities across Europe, Asia, the Indian subcontinent, mainland China and South America to several US ports. The increased staff has allowed Troy Container Line to radically increase turnaround time for quotes, update the interactive website in real-time and reduce the response time for all questions and issues that arise.
"Customer service is the foundation of our business," affirmed Mr. Troy. "When you call Troy Container Line, every one of our employees is trained and authorized to give rates and make decisions. In fact, we turn standard quotes around in an hour."
Following up with customers is just as important, and a larger staff can handle more procedures faster, Mr. Troy noted. He also confirmed that his company is "the only consolidator that follows up on every shipment, making sure that every customer has received the appropriate arrival notice."
The speed of the company's service is impressive, and unprecedented in the shipping world. Bills of lading are released within four hours of sailing confirmation.
Export clients are notified as soon as their cargo reaches a Troy Container Line warehouse, and given information on the condition of the cargo, the name of the vessel and its shipping schedule. Every import shipment is monitored via electronic tracking and tracing from the moment it's booked. Customers can choose intermodal service and even door-to-door, one-bill service. Because the company considers all ports and trade lanes equally important, every customer receives the same high level of service regardless of the cargo's destination. Troy Container Line also works "the longest day" in the industry, with office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A state-of-the-art, Windows- and web-based network, which receives frequent enhancements to its proprietary software, provides sophisticated back-office support to the staff, and allows customers 24/7 access to schedules, bookings, confirmations, receipts, billing and many other functions. This is especially important for customers who ship worldwide, across multiple time zones. Troy Container Line considers its website an evolving entity, and invites customers to suggest changes that improve the online experience.
"We prove ourselves with every shipment," said Mr. Troy. "Because of our staff and technology, our service is so seamless that you truly only realize how good we are if we have to solve a problem or meet an unusual challenge. From the beginning, customer service has powered our growth, leading us to offer all the services of a big company with the personal service of a small one. That focus continues today."
Troy Container Line has corporate headquarters in Red Bank, New Jersey, with more than 40 receiving stations and warehouses nationwide. For more information, visit them on the web at www.troylines.com, call them at 732-345-0818 or contact them by e-mail at info@troylines.com.
